Can I add more logic to the approvers?
For example, someone can be my line manager and also be the Managing Director. So can I add a rule where one role is skipped if it's fulfilled by one and the same person?

Sorry, I don't quite understand your request. Can you give me a use case example to illustrate?

Sure.
Le't say you have a team as follows:
Staff name: Baptiste (Also COO)
His Line Manager: David (because David is also the Managing Director
Company Managing Director: David
The approval level:
Approver 1: Line Manager
Approver 2: COO
Approver 3: Managing Director
This kind of scenario is complicated and needs more logic because see what happens:
When Baptiste requests a leave, it will be approved by his line manager: David.
When David approves, it goes back to the Baptise as he is the COO.
When Baptiste approves his own request, it goes to David as the final approver, and it is inconvenient.
Let me know if it's clear.

Hi,
Actually, you should create a new Leave Workflow for Baptiste instead. Create a new workflow with single approver, i.e. David. Then assign this workflow to Baptiste in Employee->Employment Terms.
